Grace. Love. Community.
These are core values of First CP Church. We believe these three values are central to the life of God, and that we should therefore joyfully embrace these values every day of our own lives. We are thankful for the GRACE of Jesus, who loves and forgives all of us unconditionally despite our failure to love God and love one another. We are thankful for the LOVE of God that gives us life and breath and inspires us to love one another. We are thankful for the COMMUNITY of faith that the Holy Spirit empowers us to form, which is where we put the things we say we believe into practice.
GRACE, LOVE, and COMMUNITY are central to who God is and to who we are.
"May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the community of the Holy Spirit go with you all now and forevermore."
-2 Corinthians 13:13

Our History
First Cumberland Presbyterian Church began on December 9, 1984 as a result of a merger of the Park Avenue Cumberland Presbyterian Church and the Cromwell Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Memphis, Tennessee. The church purchased 12 acres on the corner of Riverdale and Holmes Road in Memphis, where a multi-purpose building was built. The church worshipped and served God there for 15 years.
In 2004, First CP Church began construction on 30 acres located at 8161 Germantown Road in Olive Branch. During the building process, worship services were held at Whispering Woods Hotel and Conference Center at Hacks Cross and Goodman Road in Olive Branch. The new church opened its doors to the Olive Branch community for worship, Bible study, fellowship, and service on February 6, 2005. Rev. Jim Ratliff faithfully served this congregation from January 21, 2005 to November 5, 2017. On July 1, 2020, First CP Church called Rev. Paul Earheart-Brown as senior pastor.
Our history is still being written, and we can't wait to see what unfolds next along our journey with God!
